About Us

ABOUT THE SIMON SUDZ COMPANY:

Carol Manson, Owner of Simon Sudz

Greetings - welcome to our website! My name is Carol Manson.  I am the owner and CEO of Simon Sudz LLC, a company that hand makes artisan all planted-based soaps and other skin loving products.  My company is based in Sacramento, CA.  I started my company in 2016 after retiring as the Director of Legislation and Policy Department in state government.  I continue to perform as a jazz singer - Carol Manson & the Blue Skies Band. Music website:  www.carolmanson.com

Simon Sudz was named in memory of my beloved cocker spaniel. I adopted him from the local Front Street Animal Shelter.  Simon is no longer with us but he is still near and dear to my heart. Some of the proceeds from the sale of Simon Sudz products subsidize the pay for musicians who play on jazz and other gigs with me and other artists. Our company also makes regular donations to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Wellspring Women’s Shelter.

Simon Sudz LLC, (Simon Sudz) soaps and lotion bars are made with the finest all planted-based oils and butters (with the exception of lanolin in our beard soap bar).  We use coconut oil, sustainable palm oil**, pomace olive oil in most of our soaps.  From time to time we also use avocado oil, almond oil, hemp oil, neem oil and other high quality vegan oils.  We also use top of the line mango butter, cocoa butter, shea butter and other plant-based butters. We do not use animal oils or butters such as lard or tallow. Please see the description below the picture of each bar on this website for more information about specific product ingredients.  Our soaps are often whimsical and have a social conscious message (i.e. breast cancer research, save the bees, good trouble). We hope you enjoy using our luxurious cleansing products! Our products are phthalate, formaldehyde, paraben, sodium laurel sulphate (SLS) and sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) free. We use only environmentally friendly glitters.  All of our soaps and other products are made with love by my hands in small batches.  Please allow for some variation in size and coloring.

**We only source our palm oil with suppliers who are members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).  The premium palm oil used in our products is RSPO Certified Sustainable.  Purchase of RSPO Certified Sustainable palm oil contributes to the preservation of the orangutan habitat as well as fair trade and ethical sourcing.

MAKING HANDMADE SOAP LAST:

Unlike commercial soaps, Simon Sudz uses no chemicals to harden the bars. Please allow the soap to dry out between uses.  Do not let it sit where the shower spray will reach it when it is not in use.  Use a self-draining soap dish if possible.  To make the soap last a long time use a cloth or bath scrubby and lather it up, then put the soap down and use the scrubby to wash with.  Enjoy!
