Here are some interesting facts about Women’s History Month  - It started as Women’s History Month in 1978, expanded to a month in 1987, celebrates women’s contributions, and is observed annually in March. 

Rosa Louise McCauley Parks was an American activist in the civil rights movement. She is best known for her refusal to move from her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama bus, in defiance of Jim Crow laws, which sparked the Montgomery bus boycott. She is sometimes known as the "mother of the civil rights movement". (Wikipedia)
